Launching with LinkedIn

Schedule LinkedIn posts with AI

Postnavo is launching with LinkedIn scheduling for personal profiles and company pages: text, image and document posts in one calendar, written by you or drafted by your AI agent for you to approve.

Formats at launch

  • Personal profile posts
  • Company page posts
  • Images
  • Documents (carousels)

3,000 characters for posts; a poll question takes 140. Check your post length

At launch, Postnavo will

  • connect personal profiles and company pages, each as one channel
  • post one draft to your profile and your page with different wording for each
  • preview where LinkedIn’s “…see more” fold cuts your opening lines
  • let your agent turn meeting notes into a LinkedIn post and put it in your calendar

What LinkedIn allows a scheduler to do

Read on 2026-10-12. Where LinkedIn’s pages are silent, so is this one.

LinkedIn rules for scheduled posts
RuleWhat LinkedIn documents
Account and access A member profile posts with the w_member_social permission. A company page needs w_organization_social, and the person connecting it must be an administrator, a content admin or a direct sponsored content poster of that page.18
Post text 3,000 characters. LinkedIn points longer writing to articles.13
Media in one post 2 to 20 images, or one video (MP4, 3 seconds to 30 minutes, 75 KB to 500 MB), or one document (PDF, PPT, PPTX, DOC or DOCX, up to 100 MB and 300 pages).345
Polls A question of up to 140 characters and 2 to 4 options of up to 30 characters each, open for 1 day, 3 days, 1 week or 2 weeks.6
Alt text Up to 4,086 characters through the API. LinkedIn recommends fewer than 120.2 Alt Text Character Limits for Every Social Network
LinkedIn’s own scheduler Profiles: from 10 minutes to 3 months ahead. Pages: from 1 hour to 3 months ahead, by super admins and content admins.1112 How Far Ahead Can You Schedule Posts on Each Network?
Published limits API calls are counted for each app and each member over 24 hours and reset at midnight UTC. LinkedIn does not publish the numbers, and says it may also limit how many posts a member or a page makes in a period.713
How long a connection lasts Access tokens are valid for 60 days and refresh tokens for a year. Then the member authorises the app again.10
Automation and AI labels LinkedIn does not allow software that automates activity on its website. Images and video that carry C2PA Content Credentials are shown with a credentials icon.1415

What LinkedIn’s API lets a scheduler publish

The Posts API creates organic posts with text only, images, video, documents, articles, several images, polls and celebrations, written as a member or as an organisation. Resharing another post is supported too.

A link post is built by the tool, not by LinkedIn. The API does no URL scraping for article posts, because that made a post’s appearance unpredictable, so the title, the description and the thumbnail are set by whoever creates the post.

Carousels, and the missing scheduled state

In the Posts API a carousel is a sponsored format: organic carousels are not supported. Documents are, and a document post is the organic format made of pages.

The API has no scheduled state either. PUBLISHED is the only lifecycle state it accepts when a post is created, so an outside scheduler keeps the post and publishes it when its time arrives.

Limits LinkedIn publishes, and one it does not

Rate limits are a daily count of API calls, per app and per member, reset at midnight UTC. The standard numbers are not in the documentation: a developer reads them in the Developer Portal after calling an endpoint.

LinkedIn also says it may reduce the visibility of posts when it detects excessive post creation or an automation tool, and that posting limits vary with signals such as verification.

Automation and AI labels on LinkedIn

LinkedIn restricts accounts that use third-party software or browser extensions to scrape or automate activity on its website. That rule is about the website: the Posts API is the route LinkedIn gives approved apps to publish with a member’s permission.

For AI media LinkedIn is adopting the C2PA standard. An image or a video with Content Credentials shows an icon that opens its details, and in some countries the uploader can self-attest that media was made with AI.

Profiles, pages and the access a tool needs

Posting as a member comes with the Share on LinkedIn product, which grants w_member_social. Company pages go through the Community Management API, which has two tiers. Every app starts in the Development tier, with restricted call volume and twelve months to finish its integration, and applies separately for the Standard tier, the one meant for live use.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does Postnavo support LinkedIn company pages?

Postnavo is launching with both personal profiles and company pages. LinkedIn lets a page be connected only by one of its administrators, content admins or direct sponsored content posters.

How will my AI agent post to LinkedIn through Postnavo?

Once Postnavo launches, you connect your agent over the MCP server or the CLI and ask for a LinkedIn post, for your profile or for a page you manage. The draft appears in your calendar, where you can change the wording before it is published through LinkedIn’s Posts API.

Can a LinkedIn carousel be scheduled?

As a document. LinkedIn’s Posts API does not support organic carousels, but it publishes documents: PDF, PPT, PPTX, DOC or DOCX files of up to 100 MB and 300 pages. Document posts are on Postnavo’s launch list.

Does a LinkedIn connection expire?

It does, with any tool. LinkedIn access tokens are valid for 60 days and refresh tokens for a year, after which LinkedIn requires the member to authorise the app again.

Is scheduling LinkedIn posts with a tool allowed?

LinkedIn forbids software and browser extensions that automate activity on its website. Publishing through its API, with your permission, is the route it gives approved apps, and the one Postnavo will use.
