Launching with Grok

Post to social media from Grok

Grok knows what is trending on X. With Postnavo connected, it can schedule posts to X and 9 other networks from the same conversation.

Grok at a glance

From Grok’s documentation at docs.x.ai, read on 2026-10-12. Postnavo is not released yet, so none of this was run against it.

Where a connector goes
grok.com/connectors, “New Connector”, then “Custom”.[1]
Who can use connectors
All Grok users, according to the docs.[1]
On Business and Enterprise
A team admin adds the connector in the cloud console first.[2]
Reaching the server
Over the public internet only. Localhost and private addresses are rejected.[3]
From the API
An mcp tool with a server_url and a server_label.[4]

How to connect Grok

Illustrative — final endpoints and commands are published at launch.

  1. Go to grok.com/connectors.[1]
  2. Click “New Connector”, then select “Custom”.[1]
  3. Enter the Postnavo MCP server URL (https://mcp.postnavo.com — final URL confirmed at launch) and complete any required authentication.[1]
  4. Grok discovers the tools the server exposes and makes them available in conversations. Ask it to schedule a post.[1]
  5. On Grok Business or Enterprise, a team admin goes first: console.x.ai, the team, Grok Business, Connectors, “+ Add Connector”, then “Other”.[2]

Connects viaMCP server

Grok connectors, team admins and the API

Connectors are open to every Grok user

The connectors page opens by saying that “Connectors are available to all Grok users”.[1]

There are three kinds. Built-in connectors cover services such as Gmail and Google Drive. A catalog holds pre-configured ones such as Notion, GitHub and Canva. Custom MCP connectors are for a service that is in neither.[1]

Postnavo is not released, so it is in neither, and the custom route is the one this page describes. Grok makes a custom connector’s tools available “just like the built-in and catalog connectors”.[1]

A Grok team needs its admin first

On Grok Business and Enterprise, “a team admin must add a connector in the cloud console before team members can connect and use it”.[2]

The admin logs in to console.x.ai, selects the team and opens Grok Business, Connectors. For a custom server they click “+ Add Connector”, select “Other” and enter the MCP server URL. Adding and removing connectors requires Team Read-Write permissions.[2]

So in a company, send your admin the address when Postnavo is launching, before anyone tries to connect.

Grok only calls servers on the public internet

Grok’s servers reach your MCP server over the public internet. Servers on localhost or a private network address “are not directly reachable, and Grok will reject these URLs”.[3]

The docs describe a tunnel for a server on your own machine. With Postnavo there is nothing to tunnel: it is launching with a hosted MCP server.[3]

Developers: the same server through the Grok API

The API takes a remote MCP server as a tool in a request. You pass a server_url and a server_label; allowed_tools limits which tools the model may call, and authorization sets a token for the Authorization header. Only Streaming HTTP and SSE transports are supported.[4]

The docs suggest allowed_tools to reduce risk, for example by keeping to tools that only read. They also note that the require_approval parameter of the OpenAI Responses API is “not currently supported”.[4]

An API integration therefore has no approval switch on the Grok side for each call. Postnavo is launching with its own approval setting, which holds an agent-made post until a person approves it, whichever agent made it.

From X to nine more networks

A post drafted in Grok does not have to stay on X. Postnavo is launching with X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, Bluesky, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest and Google Business Profile, so one conversation can schedule the same announcement on several of them. The X page has the limits for that network.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is Grok integration available now?

Not yet. Postnavo is launching soon with a hosted MCP server, which is how Grok connects. Join the waitlist to get access first.

Do I need a paid Grok plan to add a custom connector?

Grok’s documentation, read on 2026-10-12, says connectors are available to all Grok users. On Grok Business and Enterprise a team admin has to add the connector in the cloud console first. Postnavo itself is launching soon.

Will Grok post without asking me?

Postnavo is launching with an approval setting: while it is on, every post an agent creates waits for your OK. Use it when you want a check that does not depend on the agent.

Can Grok post to networks other than X through Postnavo?

That is the reason to connect it. Postnavo is launching with X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, Bluesky, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest and Google Business Profile.

Can I reach Postnavo from the Grok API?

The API accepts a remote MCP server as a tool, with a server URL, a label and an optional list of allowed tools. Postnavo’s server address is published at launch.
